Successful and efficient MTM implementation in the production of traction drives for rail and road commercial vehicles
Due to the strong global development of electromobility, combined with the ever-increasing shortage of skilled workers, companies in this business field must react skillfully and sustainably. For this reason, Traktionssysteme Austria introduced a clocked MTM target assembly line in the final assembly area, among other things, in order to reduce throughput times and thus increase output in the same area. The difficulty for a company that mainly operates in the project business lies in the high variance and large differences in the sizes of the individual products. The particular challenge was to find a product family that would ensure consistently high capacity utilization of the line and also have an assembly method that could be combined.
